The approach taken by our private school is based on the binding educational standards of the State of Hesse.

As a state-licenced primary school, we adhere to the relevant mandatory curricula. These are implemented through our progressive educational philosophy, which is based on an open, holistic and mulit-sensory approach to teaching. We employ a variety of teaching methods to help guide our pupils down their own unique path to learning, while remaining inquisitive, critical and open.

Parents notice immediately that teaching and learning is done differently here at the Erasmus Frankfurter Stadtschule.

Our progressive approach to education can be evidenced by our use of instruments to promote autonomous learning, such as our weekly plans, which children complete throughout the week at their own pace, and longer-term interdisciplinary project weeks, which give the children the opportunity to explore the diversity of a topic with all their senses and from different perspectives.

Using the team-teaching approach, lessons are always structured so that teachers can identify pupils' strengths or weaknesses. We can then provide our pupils with more challenging work/remedial support where necessary. Working together with special needs’ teachers and educational therapists makes it possible for us to constructively address and support social or learning deficits and/or talents. Our work is always reviewed by objective testing.
