"Our school was founded in 2006. That makes us a young primary school, but with roots that go all the way back to 1536.“

"Exactly, Erasmus is quite old, but still very modern, as our teachers say.“

It goes without saying that the Erasmus Frankfurter Stadtschule offers a broad and challenging curriculum.

What makes our unique programmes and school culture so special? Firstly, our school culture reflects the ideals of our patron, the world-renowned humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam, who firmly believed that education was the key to making the world a better, more peaceful place. Secondly, our primary school was founded in 2006 as a result of a parental initiative. It was a very conscious decision to give our pupils room to broaden their horizons through participation in extracurricular activities – which we believe is absolutely essential to their personal development.

As a private full-day school, our opening hours are extensive and family-friendly. Our full-day programme allows us to apply the latest neuro-biological and physiological theories of learning to our teaching approach. Inspired by the concept of "rhythmisation", we spread lessons evenly throughout the morning and the afternoon. This gives our pupils enough time to review and reinforce new concepts individually or in groups, as well as to do independent research and to unwind after phases of concentrated learning.

We also work closely with the Erasmus Kindergarten of the ASB Lehrerkooperative and are now also pleased to be able to offer you our successful new trilingual, progressive educational concept for our secondary school, the Erasmus Gymnasium – click here for more information.

Our teachers work IN teams and consider themselves to be educators in the true sense of the word.

Children, parents and teachers enjoy the fact that so many different cultures come together at our school. Exposure to different cultures makes children inquisitive about the world and open to new things. That is why our school ethic is deeply rooted in the principle of collaborative learning. Teamwork is not only experienced throughout our lessons but is also reflected in the school administration, and in the team-teaching approach used in every class.

Our teachers view themselves as educators in the true sense of the word: Facilitators of knowledge, promoters of potential, guides and observers of learning and development processes, creators of an engaging learning environment and fellow learners. It is our objective to enable our pupils to develop into curious, critical and open-minded children.

Our patron, the Arbeiter-Samariter‐Bund, Landesverband Hessen e.V.

The Erasmus Frankfurter Stadtschule was founded by parents, who wanted to provide children from diverse cultural backgrounds with an appropriate educational and extra-curricular programme in Frankfurt, with a social focus, sensible planning and clear structure.

We not only share this attitude with our sponsor, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, Landesverband Hessen e.V. (ASB), we live by it. More about our sponsor here: asb.de
